Assist our client with their portfolio due diligence process, including in-depth ESG information analysis for 75 Indian private companies.
Based on their requirements, the following approach was adopted mutually with the client:
• GVR defined a material taxonomy framework of 60 ESG indicators based on information availability to monitor performance of these companies across a defined time-frame.
• Deployed a multi-pronged mechanism including desk-based research, information gap assessment and primary research. Covered comprehensive sources, including government/regulatory agency reports, blogs, Twitter, among others.
• Identified relevant stakeholders across industry bodies and companies for interview and prepared detailed questionnaire for primary data aggregation. This process was powered by our in-house primary research experts.
Information obtained from both desk-based research and stakeholder engagement programs (including primary research) fueled our scoring model, alongside screening analysis through business involvements and reputation assessment. The overall portfolio was represented in an interactive GVR dashboard, including SWOT analysis, leader/laggard modelling, macro analysis, company and industry benchmarking.
Our specialization in exploring and analyzing hidden information helped our client in bridging information gap for private companies to fuel informed decision making. The research powered our client with robust and active engagement with companies within the portfolio and helped them in identifying potential divestments.
